This dark chocolate is infused with a 500 mg He Shou Wu extract (10:1) and 500 mg Cordyceps extract, blended into a smooth base of cashew butter and roasted black sesame. This functional fusion is crafted to nourish the body through moments of depletion, transition, or recovery.

He Shou Wu, an ancient adaptogen celebrated in Taoist philosophy and Traditional Chinese Medicine, has been used for centuries to support vitality, resilience, and long-term renewal. Delivered here in its potent 10:1 pure extract form, it brings grounding energy to this restorative blend.

Cordyceps, a functional mushroom valued for its historic use in supporting stamina and recovery, adds a subtle, non-stimulating lift — balancing the yin tonics with yang vitality.

Black sesame, long revered in Ayurvedic and East Asian traditions, brings a toasted depth and is naturally rich in vitamin E and essential fats — prized for their nourishing, restorative qualities.

YinRise is made for those who seek strength through nourishment. Whether post-effort, during hormonally sensitive phases, or simply when your system calls for calm replenishment, this bar offers a ritual of grounding, rebuilding, and gentle renewal.

Premium Ingredients with Your Health in Focus

This chocolate is part of our functional chocolates range aimed at blending pleasure with health in a unique offering not found elsewhere in the market. With this pioneering date-sweetened functional dark chocolate, we provide a naturally sweet and healthful alternative that stands out for its proven benefits. This product delivers on our mission to encourage healthier eating habits, ensuring that indulgence doesn't mean straying from a healthy lifestyle. Each bar is crafted with meticulous attention to the ingredients- using only the purest, clinically tested ingredients sourced from the most reliable suppliers.

WHY DATE SWEETENED ?

We use ground dried organic dates to sweeten our dark chocolate because of their lower glycemic index compared to conventional sugar. This is typically between 42 and 55. The lower GI of ground dried dates is due to their natural fiber content, which ensures a more gradual sugar release compared to the more immediate impact of refined cane sugar, leading to a slower rise in blood glucose levels.
This makes them a healthier option for managing blood sugar levels, particularly for those looking to maintain steady energy levels, and avoid sugar spikes.

BOURBON VANILLA OF MADAGASCAR

We use vanilla from Lavany, a distinguished producer of Madagascar Bourbon vanilla, renowned for its commitment to the highest purity and quality. Founded in 1924, and still owned by the Ranja Family, Lavany has cultivated and refined its vanilla in the Sava region, using traditional, labor-intensive methods such as meticulous hand pollination and natural sun-curing to develop its signature depth of flavor. With a direct-from-source approach, Lavany oversees every stage of production, ensuring unparalleled traceability, sustainability, and authenticity. This dedication results in some of the world's finest vanilla—rich, complex, and true to its Madagascar pedigree—perfectly complementing the integrity of Tula Code’s clean, functional ingredients. HE SHOU WU

He Shou Wu (Polygonum multiflorum, also known as Fo-Ti) is a traditional Chinese botanical that has been used for centuries in Taoist and TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) systems to support vitality, longevity, and the nourishment of “jing” — the essential life essence believed to underlie reproductive health, energy reserves, and graceful aging. It is traditionally classified as a yin tonic, said to help restore depleted systems, particularly during periods of stress, fatigue, or hormonal imbalance. Modern research has begun to explore its bioactive compounds, including stilbene glycosides, phospholipids, and anthraquinones, which may contribute to its antioxidant, neuroprotective, and adaptogenic properties. Preliminary studies suggest that He Shou Wu may support neurogenesis, promote hair and skin health, and help regulate cellular antioxidant responses — although more clinical trials in humans are needed to substantiate these effects.

At Tulā Code, we use a potent 10:1 water extract — meaning 10 parts of raw root are concentrated into 1 part extract — to deliver the traditional benefits of He Shou Wu in a modern, food-based format. It’s an ingredient rooted in centuries of herbal wisdom, reimagined for today’s wellness rituals.

CORDYCEPS MILITARIS

We use organic cordyceps extract from our partners Antioxi

A large body of research has demonstrated that Cordyceps militaris has similar active compounds and activities to Ophiocordyceps sinensis. Today, C. militaris is being cultivated on substrates that are
free from any insects. Cordyceps is known for its beta-glucans and also
for the compound cordycepin. Both compounds are higher in the cultivated
C. militaris than the traditionally wildcrafted O. sinensis and its
mycelial analogues.(source: Nammex)

Cordyceps militaris is a type of medicinal fungus that has garnered attention for its health-promoting properties, similar to its more renowned cousin, Cordyceps sinensis. Both species are used in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and have been revered for centuries for their ability to enhance vitality and endurance. However, Cordyceps militaris is often more readily available and sustainable, as it can be cultivated commercially, unlike the wild-harvested Cordyceps sinensis which is rare and expensive.

Comparison to Cordyceps sinensis:
While both species contain beneficial bioactive compounds such as cordycepin, adenosine, and polysaccharides, Cordyceps militaris is particularly noted for having higher levels of cordycepin. Studies suggest that cordycepin has potent anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and anti-aging properties. Cordyceps militaris also tends to be more consistent in quality due to controlled cultivation methods.

Benefits as per studies and TCM:

  1. Energy and Stamina: Both types of Cordyceps are famed in TCM for boosting energy and physical stamina. Modern research supports these uses, showing that they can increase ATP production, which is essential for energy.
  2. Immune Support: Cordyceps militaris has been studied for its effects on the immune system.

BLACK SESAME SEEDS

Black sesame seeds (Sesamum indicum) have been revered in both Ayurvedic and East Asian traditions for their grounding, nourishing properties — often used to support skin and hair health, hormonal balance, and overall vitality, particularly in periods of depletion or transition. Rich in healthy fats, plant-based protein, calcium, magnesium, zinc, and vitamin E, black sesame is considered a yin tonic in Traditional Chinese Medicine — said to help replenish the body’s vital essence (jing) and promote long-term resilience. In Ayurveda, they are viewed as strengthening and rejuvenating, especially for the reproductive system and nervous system.

Modern nutrition science highlights black sesame’s dense micronutrient profile, along with the presence of sesamin and sesamolin, lignans shown to exhibit antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties in preclinical studies. Their natural vitamin E content may help protect cells from oxidative stress, while their healthy fat matrix aids in the absorption of fat-soluble nutrients — making them an ideal whole food to pair with adaptogens like He Shou Wu and Cordyceps.

At Tulā Code, we toast our black sesame seeds to bring out their nutty richness and blend them generously into our creamy cashew dark chocolate base, creating a bar that feels as restorative as it tastes.
