Premium Ingredients with Your Health in Focus
This chocolate is part of our functional chocolates range aimed at blending pleasure with health in a unique offering not found elsewhere in the market. With this pioneering date-sweetened functional dark chocolate, we provide a naturally sweet and healthful alternative that stands out for its proven benefits. This product delivers on our mission to encourage healthier eating habits, ensuring that indulgence doesn't mean straying from a healthy lifestyle. Each bar is crafted with meticulous attention to the ingredients- using only the purest, clinically tested ingredients sourced from the most reliable suppliers.
WHY DATE SWEETENED ?
We use ground dried organic dates to sweeten our dark chocolate because of their lower glycemic index compared to conventional sugar. This is typically between 42 and 55. The lower GI of ground dried dates is due to their natural fiber content, which ensures a more gradual sugar release compared to the more immediate impact of refined cane sugar, leading to a slower rise in blood glucose levels.
This makes them a healthier option for managing blood sugar levels, particularly for those looking to maintain steady energy levels, and avoid sugar spikes.
ORGANIC LION'S MANE
We use 100% pure, certified organic water-extracted powder from organic fruiting bodies, with active compounds greater than 30% Beta-glucans sourced from Real Mushrooms. Skye Chilton, the founder sells the products from Nammex- the company founded by his father Jeff Chilton. Nammex is the leading supplier of organic mushroom extracts for the past 40 years. Their product is scientifically verified for active compounds and has no grain fillers as are found in a lot of commercial mushroom products.
Lion's Mane mushroom, known as "Hou Tou Gu" in Chinese, has a long history of use in Traditional Chinese Medicine. In TCM, it is primarily used for its reputed benefits to the digestive system and overall vitality.
In recent times, both medical traditions and modern research have been exploring Lion’s Mane for its potential neuroprotective properties, particularly its possible benefits in supporting cognitive function and nerve health. Current research suggests that it may help mitigate age related cognitive decline. This includes research into its ability to stimulate the production of nerve growth factors, which could have implications for diseases involving nerve degeneration
Preliminary studies suggest that Lion's Mane may have a beneficial impact on mild forms of depression and anxiety, but more robust clinical trials are needed to fully understand its effects.
Lion’s Mane benefits are attributed to a range of bioactive compounds, including high-molecular-weight substances like polysaccharides (e.g., beta-glucans) and low-molecular-weight compounds such as terpenoids. For Cognitive and Nerve Health: Doses of 300-1000 mg per day of standardized extract are commonly used. Clinical studies often use around 1000 mg per day divided into three to four daily doses. Nevertheless, the optimal dose remains uncertain, and the minimum effective concentration may vary depending on the specific target system.
CORDYCEPS MILITARIS
We use RealCordyceps® (produced by Nammex), a 100% pure fruiting body with Beta (1-3),(1-6)-glucans greater than 25% and active cordycepin.
A large body of research has demonstrated that Cordyceps militaris has similar active compounds and activities to Ophiocordyceps sinensis. Today, C. militaris is being cultivated on substrates that are
free from any insects. Cordyceps is known for its beta-glucans and also
for the compound cordycepin. Both compounds are higher in the cultivated
C. militaris than the traditionally wildcrafted O. sinensis and its
mycelial analogues.(source: Nammex)
Cordyceps militaris is a type of medicinal fungus that has garnered attention for its health-promoting properties, similar to its more renowned cousin, Cordyceps sinensis. Both species are used in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and have been revered for centuries for their ability to enhance vitality and endurance. However, Cordyceps militaris is often more readily available and sustainable, as it can be cultivated commercially, unlike the wild-harvested Cordyceps sinensis which is rare and expensive.
Comparison to Cordyceps sinensis:
While both species contain beneficial bioactive compounds such as cordycepin, adenosine, and polysaccharides, Cordyceps militaris is particularly noted for having higher levels of cordycepin. Studies suggest that cordycepin has potent anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and anti-aging properties. Cordyceps militaris also tends to be more consistent in quality due to controlled cultivation methods.
Benefits as per studies and TCM:
- Energy and Stamina: Both types of Cordyceps are famed in TCM for boosting energy and physical stamina. Modern research supports these uses, showing that they can increase ATP production, which is essential for energy.
- Immune Support: Cordyceps militaris has been studied for its effects on the immune system.
NOTE : This is not a substitute for professional medical treatment
Overall, while each of these ingredients shows promise in supporting mental health and potentially alleviating anxiety, they are not a substitute for professional medical treatment. Anyone considering these
supplements for anxiety should consult with a healthcare provider, especially since mental health conditions require professional diagnosis
and management.
